About the Journal

The Oracle (est. 2007) is Philosophia's Undergraduate Student Philosophy Journal, hosted at York University. It is recognized by the Canadian Journal of Philosophy (CJP) and the American Philosophical Association (APA).

The Oracle's primary aim is to encourage philosophical scholarship and discourse among undergraduate students in Canada across a wide range of disciplines.

The journal is produced annually by Philosophia: York University's Undergraduate Philosophy Students' Association, York University Printing Services, and York University's Department of Philosophy.

Submissions are typically open from December to February/March, and the journal is launched at York University's highly-anticipated Undergraduate Philosophy Conference in April. The conference features presentations from selected scholars and creatives published in The Oracle that year.

The Oracle is open to submissions from all undergraduate students in Canada, regardless of institution or program of study.
